1. Introduction

WeekLeft (“we,” “our,” or “us”) operates the website weekleft.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data. Because we use third-party advertising and analytics services — including Google AdSense and Google Analytics — this policy also explains how those services use cookies and how you can control them.

2. How the Site Works

Date calculations are computed server-side; results are cached and delivered globally, revalidating on a schedule so the numbers are always current. Your local date is only used in the browser for client-side features such as highlighting the current month. We do not store the dates or values you enter into any calculator field.

3. Information We Collect

AI Goal Planner: If you use the AI Goal Planner, the goal text you enter is sent to a third-party AI API to generate your plan. We do not store this text on our servers and do not link it to any personal identifier. The third-party API provider's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy.

Analytics: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate site traffic. This only loads after you give consent via the cookie banner. Data collected includes pages visited, approximate location (country/region), device type, and referrer. IP addresses are anonymised by Google before storage. We do not collect personal identifiers.

Server logs: Our hosting provider (Vercel) maintains standard server logs including IP addresses for security and abuse prevention. Logs are retained for 30 days.

Contact form: If you submit the contact form, your message is delivered to our email address via your local email client. We receive your name, email, and message solely to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to any mailing list.

4. Advertising and Cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on this site. Google AdSense and its partners use cookies and similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings (g.co/adsettings), or by visiting aboutads.info. You can also install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to stop analytics tracking across all sites.

Google Analytics 4: We use Google Analytics 4 to understand site traffic, subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

OpenAI API: The AI Goal Planner sends your goal input to the OpenAI API, subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

Vercel: We use Vercel for hosting, subject to Vercel's Privacy Policy.

6. Your Rights (GDPR / UK GDPR)

If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@weekleft.com. We will respond within 30 days.

We rely on your consent as the legal basis for loading analytics and advertising cookies. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage and cookies, which will cause the consent banner to reappear on your next visit.

7. Your Rights (CCPA — California Residents)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect; request deletion of your personal information; opt out of the sale of your personal information (we do not sell personal data); and receive equal service and price whether or not you exercise your privacy rights.

8. Data Retention

Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics default). Server logs: 30 days. Contact form messages: 12 months from receipt.

9. Children's Privacy

WeekLeft is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance.
